E36 and E30 Diff internals compatible?

I heard recently that the internal components from an E36 LSD can be used in an E30 case. Anyone else heard this? The reason I ask is that I'm doing an M50 swap and have an E36 LSD from the donor car and would love to be able to use it on the E30. Otherwise, I could sell the E36 diff and buy the right E30 diff, but I know the condition of what I have now and buying used parts is always a crap-shoot.

    Thanks,

Yes I have heard that you can put a 3.25 from an e36 or something like that in a e30 case...
