So, here is my plan for saturday:

-get the tranny off the car
    -inspect clutch, check the fork/bearing/spring
    -check fluid level

since my clutch pedal is nice and stiff, returning to the initial position, the pressure plate is doing its job just fine, meaning the bearing is ok... so something doesn't let the clutch disk disengage... or I don't know..... we'll see!

The old shift fork looked like it was bent on the slave side a bit. So I replaced that, and since the tranny was getrg260 from E34, I swapped the TB guide sleeve/cover with the one from E30 trans, there was ~4mm diff in length.

does it go into gear when the engine is off?
Try this: turn on the engine, shift the gear into first as far as it goes without forcing it in there, turn the engine on, if it will go into the gear - something's wrong with clutch!

Tell me, what did you check? (master/slave) it can be a couple of things. I'll take some pics of the shift fork tomorrow.

It goes into gear just fine when the car is off but I cannot get it into gear with it started I noticed it was low on brake fluid and filled it up and I plan on changing the transmission oil to redline MTL tomorrow if I get some free time. I am hoping changing that or bleeding the system out will sort my problem out. The other weird part is the car works fine with another shift linkage installed although it is not the right one at all and really is a pain to use.

Changed the transmission fluid to redline MTL and put in quite a bit more brake fluid in and I can get into gear much easier now so that's good but its still not good enough form me as when I push my clutch in as hard as I can I can barely get it into gear so I think I need to bleed the clutch slave to get any air out so the clutch will engage earlier in the pedals stroke.

bleed the system(shouldn't take more than 5min). and check results

bled it today as best as I could it did stiffen the pedal a bit and helped quite a bit but its still quite hard to shift and to shift you have to push the pedal as hard as you can into the floor for it to even want to go into gear

hey Ive got the same problem right now, the car wont shift easily when the engine is on, its an M30 and has a getrag 260/6 gearbox on it. i just changed the flywheel and clutch kit from a 228mm (oem e20 325e) one to a 240mm (original e34 535 one) and now it gives me that problem. before I changed the clutch it shifted like new and still has the same oil. is there any difference in lenth between the 260/5 and 260/6 slave??

oh and what part is the one that has a 4mm difference? Thanks so much, need the help :(
