Keep the pictures coming, it's always nice to see pictures of the more exotic engine swaps :)

This is the one thing that REALLY shits me off about the E30 - why they didn't fit a booster on the RH-side for RHD markets!!!
If i've understood correctly, E21 has remote located booster on RHD cars, though they might not be available in big numbers..

    Actually i've normal vacuum-booster from E34 540..

    Thanks for the link.

I've been trying to get an answer from our road authorities as to whether I can legally fit the rear-end from a later BMW (E36-46-90-60 whatever). I'd really like a custom, wide aluminium cradle and I might go that way as I'll be fitting a plated Nissan R200 diff and shafts to my car.

I think the hopped-up 6.0L will snap standard BMW diffs like twigs and I have no love for the E30's antiquated trailling arm rear-end.

No, got a link to E46 swap?

Booster-less set-ups are illegal out here 'cause we have retarded fucking road rules. Cages are also illegal. You can only half bolt-in half cages if they comply with 11ty regulations. Fucking retards run our goddamn road departments. Corrupt retards.

About to attack the tray as well, did you see the E46 to E30 swap going on here, Tony swapped in the E46 booster and pedal setup on the right hand side, I'm wondering if we could get some LHD E30 pedals and whack the whole assembly in on the RH side?

Why are booster less set ups illegal?

Why not run a hydraulic booster from an E23 or similar, and run it off the power steering?

Nah, Firestorm has had a few things come up I believe. My swap ain't going quickly, either. Comes with being the head of Pork Hunt Motorsport.

RHD booster swap will be pretty intense, in terms of fiddly little jobs. It's made easier for me 'cause I've completely stripped all the wiring and shit out of my shell. I'm going to use a VH44 (or VH40) remote-mount booster like what a lot of Japanese vans run, with new hardlines bent up to suit. I bought a double-flair tool to do the lines with, I just need to get the booster location sorted, then I can get started routing lines in the most efficient, shortest route possible.

I'm also going to mount the master cylinders for clutch and brakes where the battery tray is, like on this car (although he's using a booster-less Tilton set-up, which is not road-legal in Australia).

I'm going to cut the tray out in the next couple of weekends (once I've sorted the engine mounts).

Has that spangle-monkey from Perth finally finished his swap?

Tell me more about your RHD booster swap, this is a massive bug bear for me as well.

You can find all the pics at the aforementioned project-pics site ;) And here're older, M30 swap pics.

    Sorry for the OT

Well well, did i say it was easy or cheap? All the time the argue has been about is it possible with 10-20k$, which i consider realistic building budget for a engine. With that you get reliable engine for 750hp with normal fuel, with E85 fuel 1000hp. And by reliable i mean that reliable that "hobby car" ever will be..

I've built this V8 cabrio all by myself, and been helping in couple of turbo projects so i do know what i'm talking about. I guess you're the one who hasn't even got the drivers licence yet..

Yes, and did that come as a surprise to you? If you can read and think what you've read, you'd notice that i've been talking about budget around 10-20k$ all the time.

Yes you could, but do you really want to start the argue "european engine - american engine" - again?
I admit they're cheaper and smaller engines, and have lots of tuning potential. That doesn't still make them good..

But anyways, are we done with this already? :D
