Thank you! I've seen your video before, glad you posted it in this thread.

Funny how we both did the M30 swap first ;) When are you going to replace it with e39 m5 engine ? haha

I can't believe you were able to fit the engine with a tranny from the top, and not from the bottom with the subframe !?

What was your top speed in one of your competitions you've attended?

Very clean V8 vert you got, interior is nicely done w/o going crazy..nice and clean!

                That's a brutal e30.

Those V8's are so smooth, and they spin like a top. Really kinda an amazing motor.

Thank you for the kind words, the V8 is truly amazing and makes me smile each and every time I drive the car :)

Actually you can't fit the engine from below as it is too wide for frame rails, so coming from the top is the only way..

Btw, I almost buyed a halfly-burned S62 last week but it's a tad too expensive for pre-facelift engine.

On the other hand, matching a M62 block with fully ported & polished M60 heads should be able to give you 350-375hp in a relatively stealth outlook so that is much more tempting possibility than the all-out racing S62 for the "sunny day cabrio" ... :)

Oh damn! I was hoping it would fit from the bottom.... Do you think heads can be fitted and then exhaust manifold(s) if the block/bottom end is in the car ?

VAC here in the states supposedly can make close to 600hp out of these while staying N/A...probably with LOTS and LOTS of work...but I imagine/hope getting another 50-100hp shouldn't take a huge amount of work right ? :) Got any experience with aftermarket cams on these or ITB setup by any chance?

Jean, you can bolt the short block to the subframe and drop the car over it, then bolt the heads on from the top. That will work fine. My suggestion, although a little more work is to make your core support removable. Then you can slide the entire assembly in from the front. Remember that separating the trans from the motor while its all in the car will be damn near impossible. Having the core support removable makes installing/removing the motor/trans very simple. I slide mine in by myself in 15 minutes, no lie... the whole motor complete and the trans together. Very easy. Just my 2 cents...
