I read up on GPO(English is my third language) and yes, that was kind'a what I was thinking. Just need some info about how strong the current should be and so on.
Then I get to thinking; If I'm gonna have MS in the car I might as well go with the M70B50, always been a wet dream to have one with multiple turbines... That engine was built to have turbos.
Could you hook me up with an adapterplate and stuff for the G 265 to E34 TC, Will? Price? Would be easy to fit a 265 to a M70 bell...
Damn, I have too many options, but a midengine M70 biturbo AWD in something tiny would, needless to say, be BadAss...

the E34 TC is likely one of two things - PWM control, or simply on/off. It shouldn't be too hard to work with that, but I'm not sure it's actually better than the E30 TC. Apparently on the E34 above a certain speed (somewhere around 50-60mph) it stays permanently unlocked.

The BMW front diffs share some basic dimensions with the 168mm rear diffs. They are smaller and weaker because BMW goes for RWD handling bias in its AWD cars... That means the front axle only sees 1/3 of engine power.
If you're going to do all this fab, build a bracket to mount a 210mm diff right next to the crank pulley.
But If I go mid engine I'll just flip the diffs upside down and drill new ventilation and plug the old:)

I feel I need to start my own thread because this feels semi-off topic...

Maybe I should just go ahead with the M60 awd superseven that I planned in the beginning.
Did anyone figure out how to get the transfer case electronics to work w/o the e34 abs and whatnot? Guess if one could just figure out the currency(?) the T-case needs to lock upp it would be an easy fix...
I spoke to a retired rallylegend about e34 transfer cases. According to him bmw made a few cases where the discs were replaced by some sort of metal flakes that solidify when you zap them. A bulletproof setup that in the end was too expensive so the production was stopped. Anybody know more about this?

I know a guy who is chopping one up and I think I'll get the parts dirt cheap.
N62 from the 4.4 4.8 versions of N62 will not bolt up nicely to the M60 or S62. Ask me how I know.
(JK, I've bought a pump and pan from M62 X5 I can not use, its for resale now, and I've also bought N62 parts and they are not easy to make work either. My application is E36 however, so I'm just gawking in from the outside in admiration, and adding info when I can)

The front diff bolts to the side of the oil pan... nothing but an e53 front diff bolts on there.
You'll need at least a 188mm diff and at least 94mm CV joints.

The front diff probably isn't very strong. The 168mm diff is only good for ~250 HP in a RWD application.
I haven't done the Quaife reversal, but if you're going to turn it "backwards" you won't have to.
The M62B46 from the E53 X5 4.6is and the M60B44 from E53 4.4i's, E39 540i's, etc. are very close to the same engine.
The N62 is quite a different machine.
Yes, It's lambo style I'm going for. Lambo has a threeway with ariel atom and a lotus seven, their offspring would look like the car I vision building.
By the way, awesome build this E30, hope you get it on the road soon. I have a stripped and gutted E30 with full rollcage but seeing what awesomeness is beeing created in your garage, I can't half-ass a build with a mere 4.0:)
Alltho a mid engine E30 would be somethin' else... hmm...
