They aren't too expensive as new OEM parts, should be something like 500-600€ both. Can be found on ebay as well..- E34 M5 (x 2) -

edit: The garage space I found turned out to be very small, new entrance was quickly decided on
few hours later
final resting place
edit2:
Started on the ABS part, f*ck man the E38 is wired like a 70' space ship. Everywhere I poke wires, wires and more wires.
I will try to use the E38 radiator (this thing is humungous), seems brand new - stamp says 2007.Last edited by bongo78; 07-31-2012, 12:15 PM.

One whole week, i have been "recycling" the E38. Took much more time than expected, working alone is a bitch :( . ABS is completely out, including the wiring which was a mofo (had to remove all the interior+exterior, hate to just cut wires). Tried to remove one ABS sensor hoping to reuse all of them, but it was seized and just broke :(.
My neighbor is digging for some pipes this week, will take the motor+trans using his small bobcat (should be fun).

Guys,
I am curious, is there a way to determine if an ecu has EWS? When I removed everything electrical from the car I dint find anything related to EWS (no EWS module, no ring reader around the key lock ). GT1 could not locate the EWS, so I assume car has no EWS - am I correct?

Thanks. Wire is sorted for now :). Got the M52 out yesterday, started preparing the E30 engine bay.
Will take some time to become to my liking :) . More or less engine bay locations are known, except the location of the ABS pump. Will use your advise on the radiator, the corrections to the frame wont be so dramatic as I imagined. Once the E30 is prepared will start to refresh the M60. For the prop shaft a shortened/balanced E36 325 piece will be used with an E30 central bearing.Last edited by bongo78; 08-16-2012, 05:16 PM.

Today was a good day :). The E38 radiator was a little bigger of a game then I have imagined, but now it looks as if its been always there. The same with the brakes, I reused the brake double booster that I had in with M52 (AlfaRomeo 156 petrol). After a full day of fabrication I was satisfied :), all it took was some 12mm x 12mm@20mm x 20mm hollow square for the linkage + some 50mm x 50mm sheet metal. The result: this is probably the strongest point in the car :):). Tommorow will finish up and fully clean, prime and paint the engine bay. My phone makes awful pictures :(
Still haven't decided what type of a reservoir to use for the wipers and if I really need ABS for this summer toy :)Last edited by bongo78; 08-20-2012, 02:31 PM.

Ummh, that brake linkage looks bad, do NOT use it. It needs to be refabricated properly...
In addition, I'd bet the engine won't fit in there (booster too close to car centerline).
Don't hurry, take your time. Otherwise you'll just end up in a situation where you have shitty car that doesn't work...- E34 M5 (x 2) -

To try it out, plug the brake master cylinder outputs, fill it up with liquid and then ask your strongest friend to pump / push the brake pedal as hard as he can. And I mean with full force, not just "to try it out a bit". Then observe how the linkage behaves. It shouldn't bend anywhere (minor booster movement is ok).- E34 M5 (x 2) -

I share your concern, I am 6'4 guy have enough force :). The hollow sq. tube is about 3mm thick, no movement except some small at the booster. We installed the new brakes together with the new paping and bled the system. Everything looks and feels fine. Still waiting for the mounting arms, hope to get them this week.
old 260x22mm
new 312x25mm

So far so good, engine is finally in, the motor mounts I had regrets about, do work perfectly. Drive-shafts measured and ready to be fabricated. Will be using the M60 Guibo+M60 front end+shortened front half from a E36+E30 middle bearing+E36 rear part.
After a timely consideration I came to a conclusion that OEM headers will not be to my liking,so brand new exhaust headers will be made (will be able to use some heat wrap to minimize engine bay temps :) ) . The whole exhaust will a dual 55mm/2.16" size, still deciding on the loudness :)
Will post more pictures and info once the car is on the road :)
