    Can removal

Quick question, can the cans be removed without the special tool and without rotating the engine? Just by slowly taking pressure of the cam caps?

I know they are hollow and short versions of m5x cams which can be easily cracked.

    Thanks!

Thanks, Jean. I am sans Bentley, but I believe that evenly loosening the caps from outer to middle is the way to go?

Yeah, but keep in mind it will bind if the front chain is connected...

is the M60/M62 an interference engine? If not, you can just rotate the cam to the point where it is applying the least force on the valves and then unbolt it.
