Comparison between my former 98 540i-6 sport and my friends 99 540i-6 sport was pretty noted; 98 is non vanos cable throttle, 99 is vanos+e-throttle
the vanos engine has a bit more low end grunt;the top end of the non-vanos motor was nicer and is known to dyno stronger on the HP side of things- the non vanos 4.4L engines have a larger runner intake manifold very similar to the m50/m52 stuff.
in a swap sense the non-vanos unit would be easier to install into a e30 as they use a cable throttle. E-throttle conversion to a e30 is also possible, but def. more work than cable throttle
the 4.4L M62 can also be adapted to run on M60 4.0 electronics - many people have done this.OBD1 M54/M52TU swap as a M50b25

Ok whipped up a few more sets with more in the works.... :nice:
Ok in the last few days we here at MMP have had a few issues arise...
And now the Build has shifted a little.
We are no longer going "Auto"
We will be looking for an early model manual
So if you have any parts available and up for sale, please contact me with parts and price..
It was also suggested that I come up with a kit for the booster setup..
Just to let everyone know. I'm a fab/production guy by trade so if I see something I feel can improve and produce fast for cheap I'll bringing it to your attention..
Suggestion, hints, and tips are always welcome!

is it possible to flip the booster to the inside of the cabin. Someone I spoke to gave me that idea over the weekend at a show and told me some hot rod guys do that instead.
There are just a couple of things that would turn a V8 swap into something obtainable for several ppl - booster kit being one of them for me.

Is funny you mentioned this, I'm a convert from hot rods to BMW
but I was also thinking of this. just haven't spent any time up under the dash to check yet..
(Booster placement and fab) I've seen everybody seems to have there own way of doing this. So the possibility of a bolt on kit shouldn't be too far off.. Any thing is Possible...
I'm not quite that far yet... but i will update soon.
think I found a 5spd trans for $450 but haven't gotten word on when I can pick it up...
After some thought I think that swapping to OBD1 harness and maybe with a PNP MegaSquirt setup is the direction i would like to go..
