the thing is to flip the manifold on cyl 4-8 basically making it a forward facing turbo and remove the washer fluid container/reservoir and relocate it plenty of room to place a turbo and intake for the turbo. I took on this project a week ago and had a rather clear mind in this and I believe I have another 2weeks in building thats without body work. have the 6pt rollcage, reinforced subframe, e36 rack and pinion/steering gear, 5 lug conversion h/r coil overs, cf oem looking dash. Still working on the manifold and just ordered the turbo I did go with the gt45 for now. and a built m60 with e39 m5 forged interals (forged and machined) I went pretty much all out for this build and everything is inhouse so no waiting on parts where I could make themComment

There isn't room to flip the manifold. It would hit the valve cover I think, and wouldn't clear the frame rail or strut tower. Not to mention the factory manifolds would be a huge bottleneck.the thing is to flip the manifold on cyl 4-8 basically making it a forward facing turbo and remove the washer fluid container/reservoir and relocate it plenty of room to place a turbo and intake for the turbo. What s62 internals did you use? The crank? If so, what custom pistons are you running? Is the block sleeved?Comment

I'm also very interested in the s62 internals, specifically what machine work you had done to use them, also what all from the s62 you are using!
Also, I can't wait to see some pics. I can't imagine how many times you've likely had that m60 in and out for fitment.Comment

Like I said I'm making my own manifolds there is plenty of room for me flip the manifold and have the piping face forward wasn't going to use factory manifold since they are rather restrictive in a sense compared to the manifold I'm constructing. using the s62 crankshaft forged pistons and rod s62 valves m62 heads with the s62 cams. m62 valve springs. I'll post pictures on here when I get home from work. basically a hybrid motor for boosting. This setup made 380rwhp no turbo with manifolds I made from beforeComment

I am new to e30s but my dad has been around them for years on the mission looking for this first and second 325i back in the dayComment

From another thread...
So you have a shop, but it's in your driveway? Just wonderin'.
Are you going to be using the s62 VANOS setup and wiring harness? What about the individual throttle bodies?Like I said I'm making my own manifolds there is plenty of room for me flip the manifold and have the piping face forward wasn't going to use factory manifold since they are rather restrictive in a sense compared to the manifold I'm constructing. using the s62 crankshaft forged pistons and rod s62 valves m62 heads with the s62 cams. m62 valve springs. So you are flipping the manifold, but you are then going to build your own manifold and not use the flipped manifold (which doesn't fit)?
s62 valves? They are the same size as m62 valves. And even an m62b44tu is single vanos, how will the double vanos s62 cams be working in the m62 head?Comment

Full of lame so far. Hope the car is better then this thread.sigpic

OP - stop talking and post some pictures of what you are doing. You should be able to upload them to this forum or any hosting site and provide links here.... enough of lame talk.
Until then -

If it is lame them why are you here simply put. No need to put negative comments its not needed. I was talking using the oem bmw manifold flipped. the s62 valves are slightly bigger in length. I am just using the s62 cams using m62 not m62tu heads. I started this build last monday since I already had a few motors suspension parts piping etc laying from previous work. I am doing this from my driveway because I don't have room in the shop and I have all the equipment I need at both at home and the shop so why not.Comment

Post pictures of the engine, with the s62 cams in the m62 non tu heads..... provide some valid facts to back up what you are saying or I am going to ban you.Mtech1 v8 build thread - https://www.r3vlimited.com/board/sho...d.php?t=413205
