So you are flipping the manifold, but you are then going to build your own manifold and not use the flipped manifold (which doesn't fit)?

s62 valves? They are the same size as m62 valves. And even an m62b44tu is single vanos, how will the double vanos s62 cams be working in the m62 head?

Surely this build will go better than the e39 with the stock motor you couldn't get started during the majority of last year.

So you have a shop, but it's in your driveway? Just wonderin'.

Are you going to be using the s62 VANOS setup and wiring harness? What about the individual throttle bodies?

I am new to e30s but my dad has been around them for years on the mission looking for this first and second 325i back in the day

I'm also very interested in the s62 internals, specifically what machine work you had done to use them, also what all from the s62 you are using!

Also, I can't wait to see some pics. I can't imagine how many times you've likely had that m60 in and out for fitment.

I took on this project a week ago and had a rather clear mind in this and I believe I have another 2weeks in building thats without body work. have the 6pt rollcage, reinforced subframe, e36 rack and pinion/steering gear, 5 lug conversion h/r coil overs, cf oem looking dash. Still working on the manifold and just ordered the turbo I did go with the gt45 for now. and a built m60 with e39 m5 forged interals (forged and machined) I went pretty much all out for this build and everything is inhouse so no waiting on parts where I could make them
There isn't room to flip the manifold. It would hit the valve cover I think, and wouldn't clear the frame rail or strut tower. Not to mention the factory manifolds would be a huge bottleneck.

What s62 internals did you use? The crank? If so, what custom pistons are you running? Is the block sleeved?

since you are new and worked on other models before, curious on what interested you in the e30? Do you appreciate the model or just trying to get into the e30 market?

Anyway hope to see pictures soon!!

There's a bunch of us who have m60 e30's, most of us with pretty detailed build threads and write-ups on this forum. There's also lots of information contributed from the members here in this subforum, with lots of good discussions about the various ways to get the job done. Just like 24v swaps, people are finding more efficient ways of doing things every day, and its the community discussions that make it happen. We all like easy and cheap solutions, so the more the merrier! Welcome.

I'm definitely interested in your forced induction build, as I've been tossing around the idea of either a rear mount turbo or a S/C in the A/C compressor location. I haven't seen a comprehensive build thread on either in an e30 chassis.

There's a guy running an m60b40 in a Volvo with a GT45 running E85 using MS, making 640whp. Seems like a bit of an overkill turbo for the power it's making, I'd think you could go with a smaller turbo and see less lag, but that's not my area of expertise. I don't know where that thing would fit in an m60 e30 engine bay either!

So you work on 4g63's? My shop just finished up a forged Ralliart 2.0 for a 2010 Genesis Coupe R-Spec with a gt28 turbo and Mishimoto cold pipe/IC setup. Fun car, even though it's only RWD.

Well, e-mail away, if you are out to make a name for your shop, TXT messages to individual users isn't gonna be the way to get it done. We all like pictures here, especially pics of high quality builds!
