    Miller

Does anyone have documented info on using the WAR chip on a hybrid M60B44? and what gains they got?

Just asking cause I just acquired my engine today and will be picking up heads then the chip & software...

Interested about this! Someday I wanna make my m60b44 run on MS3 :D for now I'll use 404 dme w/ dinian chip (unless yoshi hooks us up on the group buy)

I've heard some bad things about WAR,,,It was awesome when it came out a couple years ago but now pretty much everyone uses some version of MS and pnp for a similar price.

I'm still a believer though. Seems more user friendly and adequate for an N/A obd1 motor.

Maybe someone with personal experience will chime in.

^ 1+ cause that's basically what I wana do, get the motor running correct then use the WAR chip and be done with it...

If I remember right the biggest complaint form the turbo guys about miller was it still uses a 'restrictive' MAF vs. an IAT sensor.

Just to be clear, you have an m62b44 block with m60b40 heads? Or are you just talking about an m62b44 with an m60 harness/injection?

Can you not just buy the chip and software? And tune it with the stock MAF?

There are many, many MAF sensors on the market thatare not in the least "restrictive". The GM aftermarket has 100mm throttle bodies and 100mm MAF sensors.

A speed density system needs a MAP sensor as well as IAT.

We have ran the miller war chip in one combination of the swap on our test e30. We used an m62 engine with an m60 harness (to avoid ews). Miller offers a tune to compensate for the extra .4 liters. It was a good combo. Only complaint was that there is not alot of room inside the dme case to actually be able to route the usb cable and switch out properly.

But it did make a significant change in performance? Other then the clearance issues...?

Yes it did. Car was noticeably more "alive". However we do not have dyno data to prove this. It was a feel. We know more can be squeezed out with a proper dyno tune.

One complaint about the tuning interface is that there is no "live tune" feature like MS.

The switch tune feature was great though. Switching from a performance tune to an eco tune to a valet mode in a second is great.

Yes we can. We have not had a chance to update our online store with the product line but we will be doing so soon.

We would be happy to help share the .ecu file with the 484 tune on the war chip to allow you to run the 4.4 off the 4.0 dme.

Some more little info on that conversion can be found here:
M62 using m60 dme and wiring You will need: M60 4.0 dme, M60 front chain cover (or front trigger mount cut from m60 front chain cover to be welded on your m62 front chain cover), front crank trigger wheel, alot of patience! This requires a bit more work than the other two methods, however; it does offer a nice advantag

(we will be adding more to the guide soon!)

We want to help get as many v8 e30s on the road as possible. Its time to make the e30 a real threat on the track.

                            Bumping this...

I may be interested in a WAR setup for an m60. Do they come loaded with the stock tune as one of the options? Not a tweaked 'base tune', but the actual factory tune? I've been working out bugs with my swap for over 6 months now, and I need to be able to have a 100% stock map so that the 'tuning' variable can be eliminated during my troubleshooting.

What kind of group buy pricing is available?

I didnt do a swap but can maybe help. As one of the options for my MAF swap was a stock M20 tune with the exception to accept the MAF kit.
If you want a deal call Steve @ VAC Might not be much but cheaper than Miller maybe?
