    M6x and OBC

Is it possible to retain all OBC functions when swapping in a M6x?

What needs to be done to make it work?

The only thing the engine would change is the AVG MPG and RANGE buttons calibration. I think someone on this forum was selling a small circuit board that could be wired in to re-calibrate the fuel signal.

That's all there is to it? Did you do this with your swap? (pure awesomeness, btw :) )

Well, none of the other functions have anything to do with the engine. Temp, avg mph, max mph, time/date, timer. I guess the code function does, but I don't know anyone who uses that.

No, I remember that circuit board wasn't exactly cheap, and I've already spent enough money haha

Ok, thanks for the information. I don't have an E30 yet so am still in the research stage and need to decide how important certain parts of the car will be for me. Stuff like OBC function, what model and options to look for, what engine to swap, etc. I don't have any idea what the functions of the OBC are at this point, just assumed it was an all fully integrated cluster futz. I sold my built autocross car last fall (S2000) and am now looking for a new project. M6x powered E30 seems like it will fit the bill. Same relative lightness but with more power.
