    Swapping S62 over M60?

    Anyone know how difficult will be to swap the M60 http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=255859 for this? I know that the limp mode is a bit of b*tch to overcome on this engines. The whole thing including everything (EWS, 6MT, clutch, fuel pulp, oil cooler etc etc) is selling for 5k$. I guess I could recover at least 2k$ from mine including the 6MT. Any suggestions are welcome.

    Mechanically it's very much bolt-on (engine mounts, exhaust manifolds, flywheel/clutch, gearbox). Cooling and electronics need to be modified (though you can get ECU flashed by e.g. Tino / e30.de).

    Thus, basically there's no problem in the swap, except $$$$$. Stroked M60 with some headwork makes realistically the same power.. Though it's never the same as free-flowing S62 :)

      Basically had exactly the same feedback :) . The engine in question was a little shady in previous history, so I decide to pass it. Thanks for your input :)

        I think a S/C'd m60 would be the way to go for HP/$, including long term maintenance costs.

        I bet nothing beats the feeling of seeing an s62 when you open the hood though.
