    PSA - m60 knock sensors - FYI

After spending $200+ on 4 new knock sensors for my swap, I learned that there were both, 2 pin and 3 pin OBD1 M60 knock sensors.

So, make sure to order correct set to match your wiring harness!

I posted that a few times in this forum... SEARCH NOOB!! :-D Haha just kidding Jean, sorry to hear you wasted time/money on that. I almost did the same thing. Actually I think I just got lucky.

Cars built before April '93 use part number 12141736303 (3 pin).
Cars built after April '93 use part number 12141702163 (2 pin).

This is true regardless of if it's a 530i or 540i.

Side note, are you still building an m60b44?

Haha, doh!!!! Yep, that's still my plan, but I need to bar it first with m60b40. I have 4 more b40 heads that I can use with the m62 bottom end :)
