Will the F body shifter not bolt onto the GTO trans, putting it in the same position? Because it looks like it would.

        say what now?

Looks like the GTO shifter sits too far back so the shop that did my swap put in an fbody style shifter. STIFF AS FOOOOK

I have the MGW in mine, too. It's nice but very stiff for sure!

I have a GTO trans in mine. F-body shifter will bolt up but you also need the F-body shifter cup or it won't line up properly.

I hear long shift knobs can cure 'stiff' shifts. Just finished making this a few hours ago:

Measured at 8.75". Used some scrap purpleheart wood that a friend had laying around. Still have to drill the hole a bit deeper - hitting my hands on it while turning in 1st, 2nd and kinda in 3rd. I will say though - shifting is a blast now. Super easy to tell which gear you're in and to shift you only have to move your hand a few inches from the steering wheel.

I'd be worried about the wood cracking but I have that same idea. I'll just pick something up from autozone.

As long as the hole you drilled is properly sized there shouldn't be a problem with the wood cracking. If you do end up making something out of wood (which I recommend, because wood is baller) do yourself a favor and get a wood that isn't super dense. Took me about 6 hours of filing to get a 2"x2" down to that shape. Wood was so dense/stringy that trying to use a carver/blade would throw it off and that was with my press set at the lowest speed.

Any chance some one who has GVS kit can take a picture of the transmission mount bolted on their car?

What throttle cable is used with nonDBW LS motors?

I'm not sure as I'm a DBW setup. Find out for me :)

How bad is the DBW lag? Did you already flash the pcm to remove it?

Also, get on Sikky about getting your car ready for this year.

The lag isn't really there. I haven't driven it much but I haven't noticed a difference. I might just be lazy and leave it like that honestly. I kinda like the gas pedal this way.

My car is back home. I'm doing all the left over bits to get it ready.

I use a walbro 255. I put down 400wtq and over 500whp with my last motor. Should be fine for the LS.
