Haven't gotten one yet, but planning on picking up a t56 from an fbody. The shifters on those are supposed to line up perfectly.

Nice, thatll be a fun engine. Thats awesome your family has a shop, sure as hell would make this a lot easier. Should be a blast, keep us updated if you can! And yeah I agree about the ls3 vs ls7, that was probably a good choice. I was thinking about both when I started too and decided against the 7.

I was promised an ls7 but couldn't wait. I found a gm performance ls3 with a hot cam. My family has a shop specializing in corvettes and from experience the ls3 is a more reliable engine. With a cam it makes 480hp which is plenty. We've dynoed a similar engine to mine at over 500 wheel horsepower.

Cool. I saw that you were gonna go with an ls7, whyd you switch to a 3? Is it bone stock?

I started with all suspension, chassis, brake, steering, etc stuff. Should be finishing that all up within a monthish before I even start thinking about dropping the block in, picking up a t56, picking up a diff and some axles. So its cool that you're at that stage, that would be awesome if you would make a thread so I can see how everything goes and what you have issues with and so on.

I've been searching like all day today trying to find a part number or somewhere that sells a 17/17mm master cylinder. I know that porsche used to use them in some of their older cars, but I can't find anything. My google skills are subpar today. Anyone know where I can find one?

So I took the ABS unit out today. I'm planning on cutting back the hardlines back to where the MC sits, and just trashing the line that went straight to the ABS. Then I'll run new short hardlines to connect to these existing lines. Anyone know where you can buy specified lengths of brake hardline with fittings already on? I saw that in a thread earlier but can't remember where it was.

Also mocked up the wheels today, and damn do they look large on an e30. I'm hoping they look better when they are tucked up and under some flares, but they look way too big when theyre just hanging there under the fender.

    lol....

I think sikky seemed pretty sure they had different spline counts. But im gonna count that today so well find out.

Whats the spline count for the non-airbag? I got 36 for the airbag column.

It's been a while. I've owned both types. I think the airbag one has only 1 u-joint while the non airbag has two. Or something like that. I also think they have the same spline count. But now I don't recall if I got that far or not.
