The E34 booster works the same way as the E30, it's just moved forward with the linkage system. It has a lever at each end and a rod in the middle. Look at build threads, there are great examples.

Here is mine, not an E30, but same idea.

      Weekend Update:

Subframe spacers added to the E30. (shiny things on the bottom right and left)

      image

Motor and trans pulled from the E39. I spent a ton of time removing and labeling wires so I can properly reassemble without headache.

      image

      And separated.

      I still need to:
Pull the E30 driveshaft and get the front end of the E39 one welded on.
Pull the rest of the harness out of the E39 and remove the unnecessary wires.
      Clean the motor
      Clean the E30 bay
Put the new motor mounts on
      Weld the trans mount
      Mount the brake booster
Wire, wire, wire, wire and wire some more.
And probably a lot of other things I am forgetting.

Does anyone know what you are supposed to do with the oil lines coming out of the right motor mount bracket?

I thought I would just take off the oem ones and add the garagtastic, but what do I do with the oil lines?

        Simliar to this.

Most of the questions you have had are answered in our M6x e30 swap guide found here:
So you want more power in your E30? Well then an M6x engine is definitely a great way of giving your E30 some more punch. The engines are cheap, the mounts are made available by Garagistic, the weight penalty is minimal, and the fun is endless. This guide is extremely detailed! It gets down into the details, part numbe

Here is the oil block modifications or bolt up OEM solutions:
m6x swap oil filter relocation and modification BMW has a way of complicating things. They couldn't just have a simple motor mount arm holding up the engine. It had to be more complicated then that. So guess what they did? They ran the feed and return oil lines going to the oil filter through the motor arm itself! This

          The booster or boosterless setups:
Getting your v8 e30 beast to stop! To get the M6x family of v8s to fit your e30s engine bay, the brake booster needs to be relocated. Being that the v8 is wider, the booster setup cannot go in the stock location and must be relocated further forward like the e34 setups. This is arguably the hardest part of the swap. Ho

          The driveshaft details:
Driveshaft solutions for your v8 e30 Automatic transmission (5 speed) First thing to note is that the automatic transmissions from the bigger 5 and 7 series are well, BIGGER. This means that you have to heavily modify (ummmm hammer?) your transmission tunnel to get one of these damn things to fit. An E34/ E38 540i or 7

I've got a local guy working on the driveshaft and a E32/E34 brake booster assembly sourced through a local junk yard.

Now the wiring and fitting fun begins.

                Code:
                [CODE]
                [/CODE]

So I picked up a set of E34 540i motor mounts like this.

With the two bolts on the bottom as well as the bump it does not fit.

Am I supposed to modify them in any way to get them to fit on the E30 subframe?

For our mounts you will need a e39 525TDS motor mount. (part number: 22111094248)

In about 2 weeks we will have a poly version of them.

Are those the only mounts that will work? Everyone I read said E34 540i mounts will work using your mounts.

Although those do work, they are lower and could rub on the steering rack (especially if a bigger e36 rack is in place). Some customers have simply spaced the motor mounts up with a few washers. This is also another option although not ideal.

Btw make sure your driveshaft guy is balancing the driveshaft! Very important! Also a good idea to check/replace u joints and center support bearing.

I have the E30 rack in there for now so no worries there.

Do you know which one of the three (2 bolts and the bump) on the bottom you are supposed to remove to make the E34 work?

                            Awesome thanks.

I ordered some revshift ones, but want to start work on the manifold/exhaust fitment and the driveshaft length.

so i checked them it looks like i just used them as is, it should fit perfectly into the e30 subframe with the side with one bolt towards engine and the one with two bolts towards subframe

                                Replace U-joints with what, exactly?
