    M60/M62 Spec Questions

I've searched about 30 min and cannot find an answer. I have a M62b44tu that broke the cyl 8 rod and hosed the cylinder wall.

I am 95% sure I can swap in a non-vanos bottom end. However, I want to know any differences between stroke, bore, piston, etc... of the m62b44 and m62b44tu(vanos).

    Thank you for any help!

The m62tu uses pistons with valve reliefs, the m62 non-vanos pistons do not have them. I'm guessing the vanos is able to advance timing to the point where there would be contact if those reliefs weren't there. So, I'd say no.

Thanks for the reply. You make a very good point. I found someone who can hone Alusil so I might just find any m62 block I can swap the rotating assembly into.
