    M60b40 performance chip for e30 v8 swap

I've been looking through the threads and didn't find exactly what I was looking for, if it already exists feel free to direct me to it.

I'm getting ready to start my m60 swap into my e30 and I remember reading about a decent performance chip for the m60 I just can't remember where I read about it, if anyone has any info on one please let me know.

and also any other minor performance upgrades and advice before I put engine in would be greatly appreciated too.

    Thanks, Justin

Dinan has one for about $200, I bought one a year or so ago and haven't installed it yet.

There's a bunch out there; Dinan, Jim Conforti (via Bimmerworld and Turner Motorsports), Mark D'Sylva (EAT Chips), etc...

DUDMD on bimmerforums also sells one pretty cheap, that everyone seems to love. I bought one when I did my swap, and spent over a year and probably close to $2k replacing every part of my fuel injection/ignition system trying to figure out why it ran like shit, constantly stalling and running pig rich, before I found out it was his chip causing it. So, use with caution. All of the e34/e32 guys seem to love them though... And he's posted a few dyno plots showing nearly 280whp out of an otherwise stock m60.

I'm currently using a Mark D chip. Other then the removed top speed limited and increased rev limiter, I don't really notice a difference in power over the stock chip.

did you notice an increase in throttle response or anything like that or just a raised r3vlimiter Justin?

            Nothing noticeable, in my opinion.

Honestly, my throttle response is shit, mainly after decel fuel cut has kicked in. If I leave off the gas and leave it in gear, coasting and engine braking, it takes about 3 seconds until it goes into fuel cut. Then while it's in fuel cut, if I get on the throttle, it hesitates for a second, makes a weird sound, then finally gets it's shit together and starts hauling ass. It's only a 1/2 second or so delay, but it annoys me. I thought it was that stupid wedge plate on the throttle body, so I swapped in an m62 throttle body, but it made no change. Every single part of my fuel injection/ignition has been tested/verified/replaced and is working, so I just gave up and now assume it's normal. It did it on my m60, and it does it on my new m60b44 hybrid engine.
