    M60 engine covers

    Anyone know if the engine covers for the m60 is interchangeable between motors. 3.0-4.0 -4.4 ?

    The m60b30 and m60b40 both use the same cover, which is different then the m62b44.

    The m60's use 4 individual posts that attach to the intake manifold, and the cover then bolts to those posts.

    The m62 uses two brackets that bolt to the intake manifold, and the cover then snaps into those posts. There are buttons on the cover that you push to remove it, so no tools are needed.

    You also obviously won't be able to use the firewall mounted coolant tank with the m62 cover, unless you chop it up.

    I 'upgraded' to the m62 cover when I built my m60b44, and definitely prefer it. Sometimes the buttons are a bit sticky and can be a PITA, but they are 15 years old...

        thanks for the info. yeah I can see the difference on the sides. they are shorter on the m60b44
        I see we both have the same year cars.
