Of course there are differend kind of cores inside.
I only use fiberglass for molds.
Now i'm start building owen for carbon.
I move from wet+vacuum / injection to prepreg carbon.
Then i can do much lighter parts.
Lightest bonnet was now 2,9kg.
With prepreg i think that can be aprox. 2kg. And still have enough stiffnes.
Door i calc that maybe weight also aprox 2kg.
Cant wait to get my owen ready.

Question, no vacuum is needed with prepreg while it is curing in the oven, is it?

I promised to post pics when i start building oven.
Now I'm lookin good controller for temp rising.
With prepreg you can use nomex honeycomp for core.
That is the key for ultimate lightness.
