Spent some time touching up the engine bay. After installing and removing the motor several times we scuffed it up a bit. Today I sanded and resprayed it. I also sanded and sprayed the remainder of the front clip. Looks better to me

    Before:

    After:

We got the cluster working properly. I dig it!

Lightly sanded and painted the grills black.

Sanded and hit the rear of the car with rust stopping/blocking paint. I know you won't see this area because it will be covered with the bumper but figured I'd spray this now to prevent possible problems down the road.

    Another Before & After.

Let's go over and revisit some of what was recently completed and touched up while at Mayhem Motorsports.

Due to the changes made with the cooling system, new mounting points were required for the radiator. Here you can see the radiator bracket they fabbed up.

We chose to mount the radiator overflow tank here for convenience and as much of a OE install as possible.

Finally hard mounted the oil filter. Again, location was chosen for convenience & cleanliness. Here she sits next to the radiator overflow can.

Had to address the fuel line here as it was hitting the coil packs, not allowing me to properly seat them.

Dealing with the sensors were a bit of a pain. We have a few ways of dealing with these, 1) mill down the BMW sensor and re-thread it in a GM M12 pitch or 2) buy the GM sensor and drill it out to fit the BMW sensor or 3) buy a GM sensor and, cut/splice it into the harness

I decided to go route #2. Why? Because by doing so, I created a spacer and if I even need to replace said sensor, I can just oder a OE BMW sensor to screw into the spacer/adapter then, snap it into the harness. I felt this was the simplest way to go and easiest to maintain down the road. Additionally, the POS harness I had made by Wiring Specialties has already caused me enough problems, last thing I want to do is cut into it for anything.

Hope this all makes sense for you guys following along. Here is how the finished product looks.

If you are following along, you know I went with the RX7 brake swap. Plenty of criticism and controversy here regardless, I like it thus far. In the end, it was priced reasonably and upgrade over stock. Because I went with this caliber setup, my MC wasn't holding up to the task at hand so after plenty of research I decided to pick up the 750il MC kit sold by ECS Tuning. I've read several write-ups about how the braking system works but still fail to fully understand it. Long story short, this setup works great. First impression is solid!

    RX7 brake swap + Sikky booster delete + 750il MC = A-OK! [emoji41]

Throttle cable, even though this should have been simple, it required some work. Here you can see it pictured, routed between the fuel rails and snaking across the intake.

Lastly, they did a great job of tightening up the wiring harness, mounting the bulkhead and creating a very stockish look IMO

Not pictured but also addressed while vacationing at Mayhem Motorsports were:

    -Reverse Lockout
-Coilover damping and adjustment (specifically turn-in tendencies)
    -Fixing speedo
    -Fixing tach
-Getting the fan to work off the PCM
    -Dyno/Tune
-Created fuel pump bracket, relocated pump and re-ran lines because they felt the way i did it at home was a fire hazard lol who would have thought [emoji33]

Drove down to Raleigh NC, got in and turned the key. The feeling of this car starting under my feet is pretty satisfying.

Finally loaded up and headed back home to Roanoke, VA. Thanks Mayhem Motorsports for buttoning up the loose ends.

After driving through 4 hours of rain, made it home..

Because the weather didn't want to cooperate, I wasn't able to properly test her out other than some parking lot driving. Initial impression is more seat time needed asap. Time to pack her up and put it away for the night. Looking forward to jumping on this first thing tomorrow.

I'll update in detail the service provided by Mayhem for those wondering. I know a few of you were waiting on part numbers for the radiator hoses too, ill be sure to post those up tomorrow also. Thanks for the support guys!

Mayhem Motorsports managed to get 350whp and 317wtq out of the 5.3 LM7. Looks like she's finally coming home next week. Stay tuned for updates on everything that's been completed thus far as well as first driving impressions.

I have some suspension mods here at the house waiting to get thrown on and plenty of body mods to complete still. Exciting time ahead, progress is being made.
