Hit a pothole and lost throttle

I was driving and hit a massive pothole and all of a sudden my car lost power. Didn’t shut off electrically since the interior lights turn on and the car cranks, but it won’t start up AND the windows won’t go up or down. Any idea of the issue? My car is a early model ‘87 325is.

how hard did you hit? I too have nailed a pot hole hard af. My litmus test is, did you glovebox drop open on impact? Maybe check to see that the harness at the ECU is still solid/even in its mount. Check fuses for windows, maybe something shorted, make sure all fuses are good to go.

Make sure fuel and spark and air systems are still hooked up. Check harness, plugs, I don't know...any check engine light? Hopefully it's an easy fix.

You only have a partial electrical connection. Check the tightness and cleanliness of the main battery cables and any connection to those big fat wires.
