1990 E30 Convertible drivers side window motor

I need some help with the window motor. Recently it stopped working. I checked the fuses, the connections, voltage and continuity. Went so far as to remove the motor, pull it apart, clean and reassemble. Now it works one direction. Is it possible that a diode or resister needs to be replaced? Has anyone else had the same issue and found a solution? Tried to buy a replacement but it is NLA.

Never had that problem on my cabrio, but a used motor should be easy to source. Just post a WTB ad here or on the r3v FB page. If the symptoms don't change with the replacement motor, you know the problem is something else.
