    Canadian DRL with Euro Smileys

Not sure if this is the right section but im here to see if any other fellow canadian spec e30 owners here have wired euro smileys up to have city lights as DRLs. From my understanding canadian spec models always have all lights on, and that was BMWs solution to canadian law. If nobodys done this im sure i can figure it out but having a road map would be easier.

CAN DRLs as far as my experience goes:
position 0 on the light switch always has lowbeams on if the IGN is on. High beams do not switch on, fog lights do not switch on.
position 1 has parking lights only, regardless of IGN position (including car fully off)
position 2 has lowbeams + fogs/highbeams are enabled.

I installed smileys on my car (1990 with sealed beams) by using the "Parking Light" wire of the turn signal.
AFAIK, Euro cars do not have the 2-filament turn signals to use the turn signals as parking lights, so repurposing that wire was the way I went.
I also switched to euro trim and deleted the sidemarkers (along with the wiring) around the same time.

In addition to the above, I have the "Independent Fog Lights" relay mod done to run fog lights in "position 1" (but this also means fogs do not turn off with IGN in position 1 and 2)
I also have whichever relay modded to keep the lowbeams on with the highbeams, but I think this is only necessary for cars that came with sealed beams (dual filament low beams)

so what lights go on in the parking position for euro cars then?
what i was trying to see is if on canadian models theres a wire to the lights as direct power when the ignition is on, and a separate wire as switched power when in position 2, essentially 2 “switch legs” or if position 2 is the same as position 0, other than powering the fog and HB relays. Ill have to poke around and see, as DRLs arent a very common topic in the forums, from experience.
