Wheel won't go on...

I dont know if it is called a hub, but my wheel will not fit over the inner circlular part where the center of the wheel is. They are Borbet type A and are perfectly round(the center "mounting" part) so i think that the center part on the car where it mounts is warped. What can I do to fix this? I have a parts car to get anything off of that I need. Is it a long job? Thanks

Did your car have aftermarket wheels on it before? If so, there is probably a plastic hub-centric ring on the hub that you need to pull off. If they were stock wheels before, then there is probably just some corrosion on the hub. If neither of those work, your $hit out of luck, because your new wheels have a hub bore that is too small.

i had stock wheels on before. and, these came off of another e30. i already have 3 of them on my car, the 4th just wont go on. i tried to file a little bit the little hub thing but still a no go. maybe a little more will do it! :x

finally got the last one on. the filing was not enough, so i busted out the angle grinder and took a little bit away. they look pretty good on the car, but damn it needs to be lowered now. it looks so goofy! :oops:

Hopefully the angle grinding won't cause things to vibrate. If the wheels are the least bit off it will vibrate like all hell.
On that note...lets see some pics!

but dont the lug bolts hold the wheel on, so even if that center part was not there, it wold be fine? i dont think it is that bad.

if not then go try it and tell us how that ass massage is....

for anything spinning as fast of a wheel of a car you cant exactilly take off much mass from anywhere with out making sure everything is balanced with out some serious vibrations... i hope for your sake that you didnt take off that much

I don't see it as a matter of removing mass so much as a matter of allowing the wheel to not be centered. A little loss of mass that close to the center of the wheel won't matter nearly as much as having a wheel off center, and having the whole wheel mass be out of balance as a consequence of it's position.
