well it aint to bad. it does not vibrate whatsoever. however, it does have a kind random shimmy effect. kinda like when my steering rack was bad, but not that extreme. if someone wants to explain how i can pull off this part from my parts car, that would help. I just wanted to get the wheels on so i could f'ing drive. sorry if i did some mortal sin, i knew i could fix it because i have an entire parts car.
does anyone know why 3 wheels would fit on but a 4th would not. tell me please!
did you try fitting the wheel that wouldnt fit onto another hub? you could at least figure out if it was the hub, or the wheel that was causing the fitment issues.
yeah i know. so does anyone here know how to replace the rear hubs? i tried to find it in bentley to no avail. do i have to switch the whole axle or is the hub just a smaller part? somebody, anybody.
or, what would happen if the hub was so small it did not even touch the wheel? Like can i make it so small that the hub is basically not there, or am i just making it worse. what exactly does the hub do anyways?
I doubt that you and your "angle grinder" could wear down the hub evenly to make a smaller, perfect circle. In theory, then you could just get a hub centering ring that would fit. But... that isn't going to happen. You'd also be making one half of the rear suspension lighter than the other if you actually wore it down evenly on a substantial level. But once again, I doubt you'd pull that off. Everything about that sounds like a bad idea. Switch out the hubs from your parts car.

alright fine time to switch hubs. i find out last night in reading the bentley. it tells you how when replacing wheel bearings, so i will do that tomorrow.
sure grinding the hub is a bad idea... but i wont be as bad as you people say... as long as the wheel fits over it the conical seat lug bolts will center the wheel.... 3/4 of the cars on the road with aftermarket wheels dont have the proper hub size and dont use centric rings.... or if they do, as soon as they unbolt them they dont bother to pay attention to the hub ring if it falls out or breaks.... it wont vibrate that bad
and if it is shimmying, its probly because you have a slightly bent wheel.... or out of ballance... i would get all the wheels re balanced, clean all the hubs with a wire brush and call it good... i really dont know how much you ground off... but if you felt that you didnt take too much off then i dont see any problem with it
