New Rear Rotor Stuck On E-Brake (HELP)

I’m in the middle of an all around brake job on my 91 325i and doing the rear has been a nightmare. The passenger side went great but on the drivers side the problem I’m having is the new rear rotor is seated properly with the set screw but it won’t move at all. The car has e brake down and is not in gear and the cv axle will spin the hub but the rotor stays still. While installing the rotor it was tight but I hit it a few times ignorantly to get it seated and now it’s stuck on there. I tried to look on the back for an adjustment screw of any kind and just found the set spring and fiddling with that did nothing. I then tried to completely unscrew the cable in the interior and then beat the rotor but still did nothing. Any ideas before I let the 168hp do the work?

did you replace the e-brake shoes ? did you back off the e-brake cable adjusters under the console ?
if you jammed the rotor tight it'll wreck the e-brake if not adjusted correct

if you jammed the rotor it'll burn stuff up if not adjusted correct.

Both adjusting screws in the interior under the console are completely lose and I did not install new parking brake shoes as they looked good. Really just trying to find a way to loosen the brake shoes even more because brute force is not working whatsoever. All it’s doing is destroying the set spring connected to backing plate.

the e-brake adjustment to loosen the shoes off is behind the hub. the rotor has to come off to get at it. it is the same type of adjuster as most drum type brakes. it is designed to tighten as it is used. you can tighten it externally but there is no way to loosen it.

you'll probably have to remove the rotor, not bang it on.

it's at the top behind the hub between the two brake shoe halves. should be backed off whenever you remove the rear rotors. it adjusts up after using the e-brake handle. the alternate is to button it up and send it, without being certain of the consequences.

i had a similar issue, my passenger side e-brake system is not functioning correct. i'll be redoing both sides with new gear soon. mine stayed loose though.
