Found part of the problem for those with euro the 323i. The ecu was not plugged in correctly.:)
Now I have spark and fuel pressure, but not starting. Maybe the battery is turning the engine too slowly The battery has really been used a lot this past week to test all of the problems.
Will run a battery starter; 60 amp, through tomorrow and see what happens with the engine really turning.

So today got the car started, but it is getting too much fuel; plugs are wet and will not start. However, if I pull the #11 fuse to the fuel pump, car starts right up and
runs for about 10 seconds really good. I am thinking the fuel pressure regulator is shot, or all 6 injectors are shot:). What do you think?
      thanks,

ignition control unit might not be seeing the pulse from the distributor and pulling spark. would result in the car running a few seconds on the cold start injector and dying with wet plugs. just a guess.

Is the ignition control unit the black unit on the fire wall? Thanks for the reply.

changed out the ignition control unit; no change; wondering if the ecu is bad??? Car does run fine if I pull the #11 fuse once I prime the system. But of course it runs for about 30 seconds:).
Can't check pressure; car does not run with fuel pump on....injectors are staying open or something because the car floods right as I turn the key...tries to start and then floods?
            Computer????
            anyone?
            thanks,

Ok, think I have figured it out. Started the car yesterday and went to the temp sensor; the blue one, and touched the wire. Car turned off like someone turned the key.
Tomorrow, will check out the wiring. Anyone have this problem. Does not feel like the connector is on real good....
              thanks,
