    E30 318 M10 afm problem

    So here’s my issue.

drove the car 2 hours no issue, went to start it to leave and car started and died immediately. Checked for fuel and I’m getting plenty.

afm unplugged, car runs but not great. I opened it up and the needle isn’t moving at all — if ink or it by hand I can keep the car running. Is this a busted afm? Ecu? Any sort of wiring issue maybe?

    car is fully stock

So the flapper moves but the wiper on the trace under the cap doesn't?

Or the flapper's stuck? If the flapper's stuck, you might be able to get it loose. Is there a squirrel stuck in there?

AFMs suck, but there's no easy/ cheap fix, beyond buying used (hard to find now) and hoping it's better.
And for the M10, it's worse, as everyone (including me) will point out that a carb and manifold will hardly cost more
    than a 'refurbished' AFM...

took it apart, cleaned all the contacts, started working again. Going to start the Weber fund now but we’ll see how long this lasts.
