    Cabrio differences

What are all the differences as far as the body and frame go between the E30 cabrio and the coupe/sedan?

I know they rocker panels are different, and Chris was saying that they are more narrow in the cockpit. I think I also just read that the trunklid is different?

Battery is up front in a cab.

Shock mounts are in the top storage compartment in a cab.

Trunk has a third brake light in a cab.

Frame rails create a "step" up in to the car on a cab.

Stiffer firewall/transmission support to make up for no roof.

That are more comfortable than the sedan ones....

IIRC, the fenders are different also, where they meet the rockers.

            Trunk shocks (1 or 2)

And i think the front strut towers have extra supports on them, cannot remember.

.....since all the seats are the same style as M3's......I just love the back seat, but the E24 has a better backseat.

The trunk lid does have two shocks.

The front strut towers do have extra support brackets welding them to the sides of the compartment.

Front strut tires tied to inner fenders - Adding was old shool mod for e30 M3's
Subframe tied to rockers in front
Supposedly the rear fender arches are higher than 88-91 e30's
Extra reinforcements, vertically, on inner fender wells frot strut towers to subframe

Hood & Doors are the same, only diff in truck in 3rd brake light holes and lift shocks. Front fenders have longer rocker area.

Needless to say, with all the reinforcements, my still squeaks, creeks, and twists like a mofo.

So is the cabrio front subframe different from the subframe on other e30's? I might have to swap and finding a cabrio front subframe would not be fun...

After closer examination, the doors are different. We have the little trianlge piece of glass (stationary) and then the rectangle. Also, the cabrio's have 2 trunk firewalls (seperated by about a 2" gap that run parallel to each other.

And our doors have no frame around the glass.
