Nope - same size. Only difference is ours has a window mounted mirror.

Cabs with hardtops are the coolest though.

            From my observations

This is mostly to early euro cabrio

            later fender
            longer doors
            strut tower front are enforced
rear struts are enforced trough the cabrio trunk cabin
            smaller trunk
strenght beams on the sides that raise the entrance in to the car
            awesome rear seats
M3 front seat styling when leather at least

I might be wrong, but on US ones, most were "loaded up". OBC, Premium Sound with tweeters, leather (none with vinyl or cloth), etc.

Also, they all had color matched bumper trim on the diving board models instead of that nasty black trim.

don't forget the rear quarters, front and rear side windows and chrome trim are different. The cabrio does use a cabrio specific windshield. larger front sway bar, different trunk. Afaik the hood is the only shared part with the other E30's. It also took until 91 to update the body.

                  The windshields are interchangable.

Hood is the only major body part that is the same. A cabrio will take a sedan trunk lid, but you lose the third brake light.

the lid will work but it is different. I was talking about the panels inside of the trunk... I'm also 90% certain the windshield is cabrio specific. I'll know for sure when I have mine replaced.

I have a non-cabrio windshield in my cabrio. I just had to attach a mirror mount to it. I know of someone else who did the same thing.

It is a different part number because of the mirror mount.

I don't know, when i had my windshield replaced, they seemed very intent on the fact that they were different (same price for coupe and cabrio, so no, it wasn't a money ploy)

All I know is what I have. My guess is the glass guys did not want to warrant anything other than what the catalog tells them fits. Don't blame them.

The doors are different (longer) on the early Euros than the US counterparts.
