So I could not wait went out and checked the wiring on the additional air control valve and switched the wires; ground and power and the car started and did not blow black smoke.
Running rough but I think the plugs are fouled; got to clean them in the morning. It was surging like there is too much air ; or a vac. leak.....has not done this.....have to check some more tomorrow.

ok, so today I checked the plugs and a few other items. I found out this car has an additional air valve under the throttle body. The wires, I believe were on backwards.
Now the car starts and runs, rough, but does not smoke black and pour out white unburnt gas. However, the car will not idle on it's own. Just goes down slowly and then stops.
      More work to do:).

ok, strange thing happened today; got the car started and it ran somewhat rough, but did idle about 600rpm. tried to turn the icv to bring the idle up 200rpm and the car just stopped and now will not start:(. Not sure what is going on. I could always get the car to run before; even if it was rough. Turned the afm half a turn while it was running and nothing happened; car kept running. Right before it stopped I had no throttle response????
This is getting to be really strange...:)

I wish I knew more about L-Jet to help out. I am learning as you go about the trouble shooting.

Yes, me too; my other l-jet ran so good, I did not have to do any adjusting; Just started the car and drove it:).
In the last hour, I think I figured out the problem:). I pulled #1 plug and it was dry, but had spark. I remembered that last week, it was wet when we were cranking to start the engine.
So, I pulled the return line off the fpr and cranked the engine with a line into a cup.;..no gas.
I think maybe I have a problem with the fuel pump, or lines; not getting fuel, so the new injectors are not getting pressure to fire; so no start...
this is all new, because before the car was hard to start, but it always started and at least ran rough.
So will check the wiring at the pump in the morning.
hope that is the problem, got to get this car running so I can pull all the front suspension.

ok, solved the problem. Someone put a fuel pump in the tank, and it got plugged up:(. The other problem was the fuel injectors being stuck open. Hoping to get the car all back together and running tomorrow:)
