    Mystery Bolt under Dash

    Yesterday I replaced the clutch slave cylinder. Afterward, I found this bolt lying on the driver's side floor. Other than pumping the clutch by foot, I didn't do any work inside. Can anyone ID it? It's M8-1.25 thread...appears to have a break-off head that is missing.

      it looks like a shear bolt. i think there are a couple that locate the steering column in the car.

          As another possibility, maybe you have no clutch stop and someone threaded that in place of the stock one.
