are there any differences between this and a 325? will the motor need to be lifted up? the bentley manual makes it look pretty simple, but it doesn't cover the 318is specifically.

no you wont need to lift it, but im sure the steering racks are different, the 325i ones have a steeper input angle on the spline. But i dont see why it wont fit, as i think that you can stick a 325i into a 318i/is but not 318i/is into the 325i's as the engine is in the way.
Its easy to do on the IS ive dont it and nothing majour.
