Stright Pinions (getrag) in my 325is Turbo?

    Hey guys,

a friend told me about doing something with my failed getrag 260 5 speed manual gearbox, he teold why not make the/fab/change for stright pinions insatead of the stock ones.

This is the second time my trans blew, well not blew exactly but it kept stuck in third last week, the first time that happened was the smae but in reverse like 1 month ago....this sucks.

I will be buying a used/good e30 tranny cheap, and was wondering with some time fix the this one but installind/modifying the gears.

There is a person here that make all this kind of works, balance cranks, bore blocks, etc etc, all kind of machinery work and is well known.

I willa sk him if is possible, but would like te get some background or iputs in this mod, ever made in your Bimmer or previouys cars? Are worth the advantages?

    Thanks

    Diego

10 PSI, but I did many hard/heavy/quick shifts and that caused probably the fork broken. The tranny is down, will open it by tomorrow and see what happened, I bet is another fork

I know we are far apart, but I'll make you a titanium one for the price of the material and shipping if you want.

i really doubt straight cut gears will help with the problem you are having. my friend has straight cut gears in his mini cooper, and im sure you will hate how loud they are if you drive the car daily!

You know how reverse sounds? Reverse is a straight cut gear.

Go redline your car in reverse to get an idea of just how LOUD it is.

Imagine all of your forward gears as straight cut.
