    yokohama es100's in the snow..

I searched, but I could find any info on any one running these in the snow. I am looking at a set of wheels for my E30 and the tires on them are the yoko es100's. With winter coming up has anyone run these in the snow? thanks

hope you enjoy sliding, they offer no traction in the snow in my experience

          No.

They don't go in snow. I just ordered a set of Dunlop Graspics & Steelies for the Ti.

I think that's about all you need to know..

I did manage through two weeks of ice/snow last year, but it wasn't fun. mostly stopping was the issue, but you can't compare an awd car in the snow to a rwd one. you'd be lucky if the car even moves.

As cheap as a scratched up set of caps go for get a set and run some real snow tires on them. Cost wise it comes up only slightly more (provided you dont wreck on the ES100s, then snows are cheaper) because the snows are only being burnt up during winter and they save your summer only tires.

It took me till last winter to convince my parents of the benefits of snow tires (over all-season). It only took one big ice/snowstorm to make them converts for life.
              Im now E30less.

I ran graspics last winter and I was satisfied with their performance. Put sand bags in the trunk also.

That is what I am doing 8) I found two different sets of bottle caps for sale, one had these on them, and the other had all season. But the ones with the yoko were less money, needless to say I went for the ones with the all season, thanks for all the responses once again.

Best of luck with ES100's in the snow, I got nowhere with them.

they're not that bad, man. save the few extra bucks on some snow tires. you won't need em.

I mean, what's the alternative? You wreck your car? I think not.

Main reason for my last post was because of just that; I slid mine into a curb in the snow on ES100's. Wasn't serious, just a curbed wheel and a wiped out control arm; but a PITA at the time. ;)

Now I keep a pair of 185 studded-snows handy in the winter.
