    ? about center driveshaft support

If I remove my support bearing (whole mount) do I need to have the new one pressed in? My haynes (i dont have a bentley unfortunately) says I need the old one pulled out at a machine shop, yet they have a picture using a puller to remove the mount. I need to get this and everything else under the car taken care of before winter. Thanks

I know you can get the old one off yourself but I think it would be best to have the new one pressed on.

You can tap it on pretty easily, I used a piece of PVC pipe that fit over the driveshaft and matched the bearing diameter.

Thats what I had in mind. Should make for an interesting weekend. I have to remove the exhaust, driveshaft, transmission, clutch, and oil pan. My rear main seal is leaking and my oil pan gasket and oil change are long over due. pan is leaking. I cant wait.

off topic on my own thread, but does anyone know what type or size fitting I can use for my oil pressure sender? Or is it easier to drill and tap into the pan? I need to monitor my old motor to make sure my pump isnt going bad.

Just take it to a machine shop and have it done correctly, it costs like $20.
