    weird rattle from rear end

whenever im taking turns and im at low rpms, i hear some type of rattle coming from the back end..i dont really know if it happens under throttle or not but it sounds loud and it dont know if it might be a driveline related issue or suspension related issue..any suggestions?

So it's only when taking corners? both ways or only left or right? how about going over bumps? worn subframe bushings usually are more noticeable going over bumps but are a possibility, as is a bad cv joint, jack the car up and have a look at all the rubber bushings, if they look cracked and old it is highly likely they are the problem also check if the cv boots are cracked at all, a cracked boot causes rapid failure of the cv joint as dirt and water contaminate the grease.

Also be more specific than "weird rattle" if you can.

while your checking out the back you could just open your trunk aand pull back the covers and check your rear shock mounts..

May be a good idea to wiggle your muffler around just to check/rule out the exhaust system. Sometimes those metal straps can brake and vibrate on the muffler.

the word 'rattle' makes me think the sound is a lighter material component - vs subframe/ cv joint

And to add to the exhaust thing, check the heat shield above it. Mine was hanging down hiving me a rattle every time I shut the trunk.

my 6'ers rear calipers rattle, when I hit bumps while on the brakes even lightly no rattles, incessantly rattles over surface imperfections when not on brakes though. Weirded me out when everything was perfectly tight and it still rattled. I think the brakes are just too worn, gonna replace pads and throw some other anti rattle clips on and see if it goes away

Mine has the rattle. It is my parking brake cable rattling against the backplate. There is no clip holding the cable in so it rattles. I am going to 'fix' it when i do my brakes.

lol i dont really know how to be more specific but here is my go, at first i thought it was something like rolling around in my trunk but i ruled that out after cleaning it up. it really happens when im in a higher gear doing low rpms around corners both ways or slight turns..but sometimes when i hit bumps it may also do it too. but it seriously sounds like something is rolling around in my trunk like a rock or something haha weird

Maybe diff spiders or posi noise, if so equipped.

yeah, clutch-type LSDs like the e30s have can make a bit of noise. My parking brake made noise kinda like that too, but its hard to tell without actually hearing it.

wait a second, is this rattle more like a 'thump thump thump thump' ?
if so, it could be your diff. do you have an LSD back there? maybe change up the fluid in your differential and see if the noise goes away.

in fact, why don't we all just go change our fluid. report back in 5.

More than likely RSMs, easy to check pull back carpet. If not, subframe mounts. CV joints will do this too. I know because I have to change a half shaft and sub frame mounts next week. Clunk, knock etc.

rsms are good i need to check my cv joints, but i changed fluid and still no luck. the noise has been getting worse with odd symptoms..the thumping/knocking noise usually happens around 2k rpms, and sometimes (and i dont know how this makes sense) when it rains it gets worse and say if im downshifting and i blip the throttle it thumps as if it has to do with raising the engine speed. this problem is really bugging me now and i dont know where i should start! i appreciate the help from you guys!

Forgot to mention, there were metallic deposits in my old diff fluid..
