Honestly, never played with an Eta, but I've heard that they're bulletproof solid and are nice on the gas budget. Might be a nice change of pace for you :)

it's a motor that is better suited to tying to an enemy's ankle and sending them for a swim than for putting in a car. It's an ass motor.

Dude, a used M20B25 can be attained for peanuts. M50 swap would be in exess of 2-3K minimum. First figure out whats broken for sure, then move from there.

NE way, get your shit ironed out, if I were you I would take that engine out, (assuming the rocker is fragged), and put something with a little less mileage in anyway. You will be killing 2 birds with one stone.
                      A. You will have solved your problem with the rocker
and B. You will have eliminated having to do a complete rebuild until a little further down the road.
                      apparently it was 130.

Racing at 130mph on public road isn't very cool at all.

I speed, but only when Im driving alone, and in hours when there are barely any traffic.

Ok, he was at 130, on his way to 5th??? Wouldnt that be like bouncing off the limiter in 4th?

I think that the money shift usually occurs when one shifts 5->2 instead of 5->4. It's easy in the e36, but rare in the e30.
I guess it could have been a 4->3 instead of 4->5 shift instead though...
WTF was it, switch? Own up!

(Of course, my shifter bushings are so shot, I can hardly shift at all... so it doesn't surprise me as much as some.)

lol to be honest i am not toally sure when it accured. but i was on the civics tail, when i pushed the clutch in and moved into neutral, and yes my 4th was about 6,000 rpms,

friend in the wrx passed me so i shifted back into gear, which ended up being 3rd, and SHOOOF tac goes splat into the 7.5 rpm range, i quickly notice what i have done and neutral it again, shift into 5th like nothing happened, and contiue on my way, didn;t even notice anything was wrong til we turned around on an exit ramp....

i just open up the valve cover, just looks like i broke the top, second from front, rocker arm,,.,,, i guess i'm just goign to have to remove the head and handle it that way, don't have time today... i took the lose rocker arm piece out, is there anyway i can temperaily drive the car somewhere? a bmw mechanic told me to unplug the fuel injector to that cylinder.

and i only have to replace the ONE rocker arm that is busted right?

Unplug the injector to that cylinder, and drive it as little as possable until you can fix it. It will put that much more stress on the rest of the engine to drag it.

Did the civic's enormous tri-wing distract you? Or was it the PSHHH of the wrx's bov passing you?
