Brake lining light

I just replace my brakes and all that other good stuff and my brake lining light is on. Does an anyone kow how to reset it or turn it off?
No really a big deal but it annoys me

Same thing just happened to me, although the light seems to go on more when the roads are wet. Its intermittent but happens pretty often.

For Miller - Did you replace the sensor or reuse the old one? Was the light on before you replaced the pads?

For DW - you have an open somewhere that is getting wet..... I'd replace the front sensor, see if it fixes it, if not, then the back sensor. I'd imagine that it is one or the other. If this doesn't fix it, you'll need to trace the circut to see where it is open, but the best chance is one of the sensors, as they are the most open to the elements.

if the light is always on, then the sensor is missing or broken. if it comes on sometimes, it's probably rubbing on the wheels and shorting out.

I look at it again and the sensor looks in poor condition. I really dont want to place the brake sensor but other then that is there another way to get the light to shut off.

mine was on. I looked while my tires were being put on, a wire was hanging down.
jacked up car.....hooked up that wire, light went off.

The light means one of three things:
1) brake pads shot
2) brake pad sensor shot
3) sensor disconnected

It could also mean a circuit board problem which is getting more and more common on these cars as they age. Try bang on the dash a little and see if that makes it flicker.

i replaced my brakes (rotors, pads, sensors) about 7k miles ago.. about 3k miles ago they started flickering alot, and then they just stay red all the time now.. i'm too lazy to go check it out cause ik now my brakes are fine.. but yea.

pulling the cluster takes like 10 minutes max, pull it out, and remove the break lining bulb, as long as your not stupid, and keep an eye on your breaks, you dont need the idiot light, just take it out....

they cost $5.. replace the damn sensor :?
