318i vs 325i brakes.

    318i vs 325i brakes.

    are they the same? i have an early 84 318 jst wondering if they have the same calipers as the 325i cause i jst picked up some frrom an 87 325i and they look the same.

        Larger, and vented. They bolt right on.

          You didn't notice the little drums on the back of your 318 and the rear disks on the 325?

            yea i knew about the rear drums i was refering to the front calipers.

                  if you're talking about later model (87+) 325i and 318i/is (90-91), yes, the front calipers are the same.

                      Like I said ealier Yes, the 318i(early) uses Solid rotors, the 325e 325i use Vented rotors which are thicker, the calipers are also larger on the 325e/325i.

                          By the part numbers, the 325e/325i uses a thicker rotor so the clearence between the pads has to be more, thus the caliper wider.
                          THEY ARE AN UPGRADE FOR YOUR PRE 85 318i GO AHEAD AND BOLT THEM ON.

                          Sorry but it's been said 2 times there different.
