    Bump for related question -

Can the fuel pump itself leak? I had what appeared to be a fuel leak near pump area that usually showed up when I filled the tank. I do not have the accumulator.

This past week, I dropped the tank to check to see if there were any rust holes on the tank itself. Tank looks good on the top side - dirty, but no wetness. Some paint peeling/flaking off on the left-hand side at the seam and above (but this could just be from brake clean when I changed the filter). Large diameter rubber line looked good. Basically, no signs of leaking lines or tank. Newer fuel filter. This leaves me with just the pump itself - so do they ever leak? its still pumping fine (good PSI, not noisy).

    Any other potential culprits?

On this car a leak near the pump with a full tank would have to be one of the hoses, the pump or filter, or the tank. If it only happens with a full tank I'd suspect the evap line or a pinhole in or near the top of the tank..
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
