S50US motors surtenly aint special swaps, no diffrent from M50 swaps and they surtenly aren´t anything special if you select the right parts
Those who say turbo´s haven´t been done as much as S50/M50 swaps
don´t know a thing on the subject,
over here in Europe,, the turbo thing has been beaten to death, and then beaten while stone cold dead, turbo M20´s have been around since the day they came out,
M50 swaps haven´t been available since the M50 came out, we are talking 8years for the M20 in E30´s
Who do you think make those 700,800,900hp M20´s ,,
Europeans..
and of course they had to get good at building a shitload of 300,400,500hp M20´s before getting to the big boys
JDM, if you aren´t going to tackle the swap or turboing yourself then save your ungoodly amount of money on something else,,
Also you are all forgetting the M30 turbo swaps, 3.5liters + turbo@15psi = insanity
Start with a M30 swap
Here it is all in plain english, I don´t think a better engine swap info can be found on the M30 swap,
INFO : 3.5 (218hp stock) with some nice cams , headers = 250hp and about 360nm torque
M30 engines are bulletproof and they have been turboed like none other,
I remember a M102 E23 = 745i ,, guy had it at about 500-550hp,
stock engine aside from the ecu chip having a little mod to it and exhaust + bigger injectors,, these are the cheapest 550hp anybody will ever get from a BMW motor in a E30,,
This could be had for $3000 in Germany or so, that´s with buying the E30 for it!!!!!!
