I don't know whether it would help to compair engine angle's/position's with mine or not ?

I had to chop my gear linkage down 60mm.

I must get round updating that page :?

Good luck with your swap ;)

I don't mind one bit, I've ran into a snag with the injectors so it may be a bit till it's up and running.

OK mate, here's a copy of the PM.

Hi,i didn't want to hijack that thread so i thought i'd send you a PM.

They are supposed to have a plenum/air box like in this picture of an M6 engine bay.

The plenum i've got was fitted to an E30 before and they had to take a cut out of it so it would clear the brake servo, they also moved the intake from it's normal place and welded a new one over the part of it that has the "24v-6" writen on it.

So this plenum i've got look's a mess.

I was either going to make a new plenum and use a big K+N cone filter or just put sock type filter's straight over the end's of the trumpet's.

I'm using a stand alone ECU so i don't have to worry about using an AFM as i don't need one.

Nice, are you going to cut and weld the M30 flange onto them then?

I'm going to have an adapter plate made like Hartge did in this auction.

I missed the end of the auction other wise they would have been mine !

As it happen's it's a chap off E30zone that won them and he's got a mate in the trade who will copy it for me and i want to look at the Hartge TB's because i think they would have started the port shape change(M30 to M5 port shape's) in the TB's them self's as there's too much differance in port shape for a plate on it's own to make the transition in shape's smoothly.

what e28 is that radiator from

how much thinner is it approx than the e30 radiator?

E28 535i, about the same thickness as the E30 radiator, I'd have to pull out the calipers to see for sure. It's a little longer and takes up the whole middle core support area. Then I've got a 16" electric fan wired to a dual switch thermostat to keep the engine cool.

The one John built has that same radiator. He says in the summer the fans he installed kick on when he is in traffic, but above 10mph they turn back off, too keep things right at the half way point on the temp guage.

But now that it is cold he cannot make any heat, so he just a peice of sheet metal in front of the radiator.

That is not the best solution, but I wonder if it is a common issue if you use a lower temp thermo stat.

Well I custom built a whole harness for it, The Fan will alwasy be on on a low speed running threw a Brand new aux fan 6 ohm resistor, then once the radiator switch hits ~170 F the Fan will kick in on High speed then kick back to low speed once the engine cools down. I'll be running AC also on it. Not producing heat could have something to do with the coolant hose routing, I know the E28 guys have troubles with not getting any heats out of there m30's sometimes.
