    Steel braided hoses.

A quick question if you think it's worth ditching the plastic hoses for something much stronger like steel braided. I ask this because the Arizona heat has already eaten away some of the older hoses inside my engine. From radiator to fuel lines. Again your opinions, and I know steel braided hoses aren't cheap but may be worth it.

In the engine bay, purely for looks. The heat from Arizona weather shouldn't have done anything as the heat from the engine is much higher. The steel braided hoses would be stronger, but are not neccisarilly needed. To me, it wouln't be worth the cost.

agreed, braided lines are a pain to work with also. i like to use fuel/emission hose in place of normal vacuum hose. make sure you replace the fuel lines with hose specfic for fuel injection applications.

If you are looking for more heat resitant rubber hoses, then Si rubber hoses are what you probably want. Biggest manufacturer I know of is Samco.

rubber hoses expand under full brake presure, steel hoses dont, you wont notice the difference on the street but if you track your car and use the brakes heavily than you feel that the steel hoses dont have as much brake fade. but their not worth it if you just drive on the street.

He is asking about engine hoses, not brake lines....

He isn't talking about brake lines.
