I thought only some years did that? I could be wrong though.

on sealed beam cars, both lights are supposed to stay on-the low beams have dual fillaments, low for normal lighting and high to go with your brights. on ellipsoid cars, the lows stay on with the highs, but the lows only have one fillament. in either case if his lows are shutting off then something is wrong, or he installed ellipsoids into a sealed beam car and hasn't jumped the relays yet.

you need to connect one of the pins on the low beam relay to a pin on the high beam relay.. I don't remember which pins off the top of my head, but you should be able to find that on Ryan's ellipsoid guide. I just stuffed a wire in the contacts and stuck the relays on top, works great. as a side effect, your fog lights will not turn off when you hit your high beams, but that's no big deal.

Connect pin 30 on each relay.

connect pin 30 from the low beam relay to the pin 30 on the high beam relay.
