What is the value of the aux fan resistor?

Does anyone know what the electrical value is of the AUX fan resistor - the one that is common or prone to failing?

What would happen if the resistor were completely removed from the circuit and the wires spliced together w/ no resistor, would the fan just constantly run on high speed regardless of interior A/C switch being on/off?

Can a non-factory replacement resistor w/ same values be put in place of the common factory resistor?

You'll need a resistor(s) of high enough wattage if you were going to replace with non factory parts, as it get's HOT.

    Sorry don't have it's values.

you can bypass the low speed circuit by switching the wires at the thermoswitch so only the high speed comes on, or at the fan itself. I wouldn't reccomend just removing the resistor, it wouldn't hurt the fan but the relays and wiring on the low speed circuit were not meant to run the fan at full speed.

as far as running just any resistor, technically yes if you found the right value - but the stock resistor has a huge ceramic heat sink to cool it off. If you just stuck a regular resistor there it wouldn't last very long until it melted.

Something like this, it's got a heatsink on it's body and can be bolted to the metal....but you'll need to figure out what value. Not sure if this is worth the effort? why?
