This is a strange one.
I've been hearing this very loud clicking sound intermittently in the past week or so. It goes away when I hit the brake pedal, I only have to barely tap it, not depress it the whole way to rid the noise. It comes back when I leave off the pedal. It does it the ACC and ON key position, when the engine is running or off. I traced back the wiring to under the dash, unplugged the connector, and it stopped.
It sounds like an impact gun... it's a loud, metallic, and fast clicking/clunking.
Cruise control still works, at least when it's not clicking. Haven't been able to try it when it is clicking.
I'll trace out the body side wiring and make sure there's no wires pinched or something, but any other ideas? I'm a little confused what would even make a noise like that, as it's not vacuum controlled.
