Fuel Injector with Broken Tip -- Useless?

    Try and get ones from a mustang. I believe most Bosch injectors are the same.


    I got mine at autozone.

    Go to any parts store and if they don't have them have them check for 5.0 mustang injector o-rings

    so i took out my injectors for the 1023 time and replaced the fin-style pintle caps with blue non-fin style pintle caps. it was a pain in the ass but it was worth it. however when putting the injectors back I must have broken one of the top seals because it is SPRAYING fuel hard from the top. where can i get a new seals? is there any place local I can get them so I can try to fix it today? dealer maybe?

    Ship them back and get the design 2's off ebay. But I think they might still work. Some one correct me if I'm wrong

    no they sent me the brown ones (but they are blue)

    i knew i should have just got the fin-style ones from ebay

    Your welcome to try. But your better off buying new. They are more than likely going to break. They get brittle over time.

    They sent you the ones like the ebay link? If they did it will work and have a better spay pattern than the brown one in the pic.

    just got my pintle caps in from rc eng but I think they sent me the wrong ones. Mine are like this but in blue:


    but the pintle caps that are on my injectors look like this:

    is there a problem with taking the pintle cap (tip) off of an injector from a car in the pnp to replace a broken one?

    sorry that your napa sucks. When I went there they brought out a whole box of differet caps so we could find the right ones.

    also if your injectors have broken caps chances are you should be replacing the seals anyway..

    they affect the spray pattern pretty significantly so I wouldn't use broken tips. Plus I think they cost less than a dollar each.
